HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University Athletics department finished seventh in Division II nationally in community service hours tallied by Helper Helper, announced by the organization today (Friday, May 27).

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University athletic department and its 24 teams and 475 student-athletes finished 44th in all of Division II in community service hours during the 2019-20 year, via data from Helper Helper. In addition, Coker had four programs rank in the top 10 nationally amongst their respective sports.

The Coker College women’s basketball team is just under a month away from the start of their season, but they have still been making time in their busy schedule to volunteer in the community.

The Coker College softball team is hard at work this preseason, but not just perfecting their own skills.

The holidays aren’t just a time for receiving, but for giving as well. Rather than participating in their annual gift exchange among teammates, the Coker College softball team decided to adopt a local Hartsville family this holiday season.

During October, Coker student-athletes from the Cobras 22 athletic programs have logged 937 hours of community service.

Coker Athletics is proud to announce the completion of 4,530 service hours from the Cobras 22 athletic programs over the months of August and September.

The Coker baseball team hosted a free youth clinic on Wednesday (Mar. 15) at Byerly Park.

The Coker women's volleyball team took time out of their busy semesters to give back to the Hartsville community.

The Coker College spirit squad volunteered at Carolina Elementary School this afternoon (Feb. 17) to inform and encourage students to participate in their Dragon Run Fundraiser that is taking place on March 3rd.

On Monday, Jan. 16, more than 400 Coker College student-athletes volunteered to go out into the Hartsville community and partake in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
