Sykes and Wilke find the back of the net in Coker's 2-0 win over AUM.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first half of this game was almost all Coker. Coker led AUM in shots, corners, and possession of the ball.
- This first half was played mostly in the AUM defensive half, with Coker having multiple good chances that were thwarted by wonderful defensive tackles by the AUM defense.
- AUM got its first real look at the goal in the 43rd minute of the game by Aurora Gobbi. Gobbi took a shot from distance that thumped into the crossbar and out of play.
- Coker had a chance of their own at the end of the first half when Grace Sykes picked up a clear corner kick just outside of the box. Sykes hit a beautiful volley that bent around multiple AUM defenders, finding its home in the bottom left corner of the net, giving Coker the lead with just 3 seconds left to play in the first half.
- After the half-time break, the Cobras came out just as ferocious as they ended the first half. When Alexis Spivey sent a darting pass to Ella Wilke. Wilke passed her defender with ease with a bit of magic as she performed a Maradona spin to get a 1v1 with the AUM keeper that she buried into the back of the net, giving Coker a 2-0 lead with most of the half left to play.
- Coker was unlucky not to make this game 3-0 in the 81st minute. Isabella Rychel had a shot cleared off the line by the AUM centerback.
- Even though there aren't many stats kept for defensive performances, Emma Brandt had an impressive shift for the Cobras today at left center back. She made multiple runs into the AUM defensive third, creating chance after chance for her teammates. Brandt wasn't only contributing in the offensive third; however, she was a rock on the back line today, barely ever being beaten or giving up possession of the ball.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Coker will have its first road game next as it takes on USC Aiken on Wednesday, the 17th. This game will be at 7:00 PM EST and will be streamed on the PBC Network.
