Cobras Host Pioneers in SAC Tournament Quarterfinal
Coker women's lacrosse will host the quarterfinal game at home on Tuesday.

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's lacrosse(13-4, 6-2 SAC) will host the Tusculum College Pioneers in a South Atlantic Conference tournament quarterfinal on Tuesday (Apr. 25). Video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.
The two teams met in Hartsville back on Apr. 8, with Coker getting the 19-14 win. Marabeth Durden led the scoring effort with five goals, while Faith Kent and Haley McCusker each scored four times. Mackenzie Baker and Lindsay Ordemann each recorded two goals, while Bailey O'Brien and Claudia Jenkins each tallied one. Kent and Jenkins each also dished out a team-high three assists. Coker scooped up 14 ground balls, with three different Cobras collecting three. The home team won the draw control battle 18-17, with Baker's five leading the team. Durden also caused a team-high three turnovers. Cassie Williams made eight saves in the win.
On the season, McCusker's 67 goals are a team and conference-high mark. Kent is tied for third with 49 goals, while Jenkins is 11th with 40. Kent's 46 assists are second in the league, while Durden's 16 are tied for 10th. Kent's 95 points lead the league, while McCusker's 75 is the third-highest total. Jenkins is 13th with 53, while Durden is 14th with 51. Durden is also third in the league with draw controls with 67. Baker is tied for seventh in the category with 49, while Lindsay Ordemann is 14th with 39. Durden's 53 ground balls are third in the league, while Kaitlyn Kimball is seventh with 46. Ordemann is also 10th in the category with 43. Kimball leads the conference in caused turnovers with 52, while Durden is third with 30. Ordemann is also tied for sixth with 26. Between the pipes, Williams's 124 saves are sixth in the conference, while her 8.82 goals against average is second in the league. She is third in save percentage with a mark of 45.4 percent, and she leads the conference in wins with 13.
The Pioneers come into the tournament 5-11 overall and 3-5 in the South Atlantic Conference. Offensively they are led by Savannah Elliott, whose 43 goals are ninth in the conference.
Opening draw is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Coker Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $6 for adults, $3 for kids 12 and under, seniors and active or retired military, and $2 for Coker College students and faculty. The first 150 Coker students will be admitted free of charge, and no Coker passes will be accepted.
