HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's lacrosse team lost a 14-8 South Atlantic Conference game to Queens University of Charlotte on Wednesday (Mar. 5), at Byerly Park. With the loss the Cobras sink to 2-2 on the year and 1-1 in SAC play.
The Navy and Yellow got off to a slow start and trailed by a score of 10-3 entering halftime. Coker however would battle their way back to just a 12-8 deficit with five minutes remaining, but the Royals would respond with two goals at the end of the game to preserve the win.
Offensively the Cobras were lead by Danielle Holcomb with three goals. Lindsay Ordemann and Mackenzie Baker would tack on two goals apiece, while Hayley Ferone added one. Ferone and Marabeth Durden tallied the teams' only assists with one each.
Coker will hit the road for their next competition to face-off against Meredith in a nonconference competition on Monday (Mar. 10). Game time is set for a 1:00 p.m. start time.
