Murfreesboro, NC - The Coker Men's Soccer team headed on the road for some non-conference action this afternoon, coming away with the 3-2 victory over the Hawks of Chowan.
The Cobras started off hot, scoring within the firsst ten minutes off a fantastic shot in the top right corner by Vitalis Takawira Jr. to make this a 1-0 game. Around 20 minutes later, Mitchell Starrs scored a beautiful back heel flick off the assist by Matty Tricker.
Chowan had the quick answer not even a minute later, scoring to make it a 2-1 game and closing the gap before halftime. In the second half, Connor Duggan scored off the assist by Leo Souza to extend the lead to 3-1. The Hawks again had the quick answer, making it back to a one goal deficit at 3-2 just three minutes later. The Cobras were able to hold them off for the remainder of this one, coming away with the win on the road.
The Cobras will head on the road again this weekend for some SAC action against Carson-Newman. Kick-off for that contest will be at 2:30 PM ET.
