
Cobras Win Fourth Straight, Take Down Belmont Abbey
Coker puts together a final score of 251.975 in route of Crusaders.
BELMONT, NC. - Coker took down Belmont Abbey Friday night, earning the two seed in the Conference Carolinas tournament. Coker put together a total score of 251.975, a season best.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Crusaders jumped out to an early lead Friday when they put together a score of 35.65 in the compulsory heat. Coker added a 34.05 score in that round.
In the acro and pyramid heats, Coker took victories over the Crusaders. The Cobras outscored the Crusaders by less than a point in each, but it was Coker winning both. Coker then took the lead in the toss component.
Coker put together scores of 8.60, 8.40, and 9.05 in route of outscoring Belmont Abbey 26.05 to 25.75.
The Cobras began to run away with things in the tumbling and toss events. Coker put together a score of 50.375 over the course of six heats in the tumbling event, while the Crusaders added a score of 46.075. Coker, for the second straight week, then dominated the team event. The Cobas put together a score of 85.35 to finish off their night.
Coker's 251.975 is their highest score of the season, and helped the Cobras earn their fourth win in a row heading into the conference tournament.
