Eugene Galloway has been named Coker University’s head men’s and women’s track and field and cross country, announced on Tuesday, May 2nd by Vice President of Athletics and Athletic Facilities, Dr. Lynn Griffin. Coach Galloway joins the Coker program after serving in the same role at Roanoke College since 2018.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Galloway to Coker and the Hartsville community,” said Griffin. “Gene brings significant experience and success to the Cobras, and I look forward to watching him continue to grow and build our program”.
Galloway comes to Coker from Roanoke College. He arrived at Roanoke in the fall of 2014 as the assistant track and field and cross-country coach. In 2018, he was promoted to head coach of the program. I am excited to get to know each student-athlete and grow a strong program. Our focus will be to build a team culture centered on open communication and the constant pursuit to improve each and every day. Our family looks forward to being a part of the Hartsville community".
