HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's lacrosse team is back at home on Wednesday (Apr. 6) to take on the No. 15 nationally-ranked Belmont Abbey College Crusaders in a non-conference matchup. Opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m. with live stats and video available at www.cokercobras.com.
Mike Martiello and Shane Wilson lead a Coker offensive unit that is averaging just under 10 goals per game. Martiello's 48 points are a team-high, coming on 23 goals and 25 assists. His points total is also second best in the South Atlantic Conference. Shane Wilson comes into the matchup with a conference-leading 35 goals. On the defensive side of the ball, Patrick Timothee and DeShaun Ormond lead the way with 16 and 13 caused turnovers. Timothee also has 32 ground balls, while Ormond has 37.
Belmont Abbey travels to Hartsville with an 8-2 overall record and scoring 15 goals per game. They are led by Adam Wiedemann, who has 30 goals and 22 assists this season.
Opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m. at the Coker College Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
