Cobras and Indians Battle in Midweek SAC Men’s Lacrosse Matchup
The Coker College men's lacrosse team will be back at home on Wednesday (Mar. 30) to play host the visiting Catawba College Indians.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's lacrosse team will be back at home on Wednesday (Mar. 30) to take on the visiting Catawba College Indians in South Atlantic Conference action. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. with live stats and broadcast available at www.cokercobras.com.
The two teams split the previous four meetings, with Coker winning the last two.
The senior duo of Shane Wilson and Mike Martiello lead the way for the Cobras on the offensive end of the ball. Wilson is third in the SAC in goals, with 26 and seventh in the conference with 29 total points. Martiello is second in the conference in points and assists, with 42 and 20, while his 22 goals are good enough for sixth. Senior Josh Smith has a team-high 37 ground balls, to go along with 10 goals and nine assists. On the defensive end, Patrick Timothee is tied for second in the conference with 15 caused turnovers, while DeShaun Ormond is tied for eighth with 11.
The Indians travel to Hartsville with a 3-5 overall record and a 2-2 in-conference record. They are led by 20-point scorers Connor Kennedy and Josh Reedy.
Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Coker College Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
