MARS HILL, N.C. – Freshman Keith LaClair (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) recorded the first hat trick of his college career in the Cobra lacrosse team's 20-5 loss to Mars Hill on Wednesday night.
Timothy Smith (Commack, N.Y.) scored the first two goals for the Cobras before LaClair tallied his first goal of the game in the first quarter. The Lions shut down the Cobra attack for the remainder of first half taking a 14-3 lead into the intermission.
The Cobras held Mars Hill to just two goals in the third quarter, before LaClair netted his final two goals of the game in the fourth quarter.
LaClair also recorded an assist in the game; while Ryan Vento (Bellmore, N.Y.) had two assists and Steven Marciano (Shirley, N.Y.) had one.
Coker returns to the field on Saturday, March 3 when they travel to Lees-McRae College for a Conference Carolinas game at 2 p.m.
